Church Santa Maria Maggiore

Church Santa Maria Maggiore is the parish church of Sirmione, is located inside the Medieval centre.

This is one of the most significant examples of architecture from the 1400s in the lake area and is noted for its unusual terracotta decorations, the elegant apsidal structure and the external buttresses. The main entrance consists in a porch with five arches. It is found inside the medieval suburb of Sirmione in the proximities of the castle scaligero and it distinguishes him for the particularity and refinement of the decorations in cooked, for the elegance of the structure absidale and for the game of the external buttresses. Inside the church Santa Maria Maggiore are valuable paintings, fine frescos and a wooden staute of the Madonna della Neve from the fifteenth century, the bell tower, incorporated in the house of forehead, it was drawn from a scaliger tower.
