The “Monte Suello” Section in Salò is celebrating a century of alpine history with a special event that will involve all local groups. The Vessillo will set off on a long itinerant journey, visiting the 57 local groups. The Alpini Group of Sirmione will have the pleasure of hosting the event on May 12 and 13, 2026, with two significant moments.

The first moment will take place on May 12 at the Monument to the Alpine Brigades in via Mantegna, 63. The ceremony will begin at 7:00 PM with the blessing of the laurel wreath and the deposition in honor of the fallen. This will be followed by the official presentation of the Vessillo and the Album d’oro to the Sirmione Group, along with significant speeches and presentations. The day will conclude with a Holy Mass dedicated to the group leaders and the deceased alpini.

The second moment, on May 13, will move to the historic center of Sirmione with a parade starting from the Castle and ending at the church of San Pietro in Mavino. There, honors will be paid to the Vessillo, the flag raising, and the laying of a golden wreath at the Memorial of the Fallen Bell, followed by a commemorative Holy Mass.

For those unable to attend, the Vessillo will be on display at the Alpini Group’s headquarters in Sirmione on May 14, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
