A trip to Lake Garda is full of emotions and memories. Imagine being able to take a piece of this paradise with you: a reflection of blue, a ray of sunshine, a corner of landscape to always keep in your bag.
So why not always carry with you the light that reflects in the waters of the lake, the cry of the seagulls, the scent of honeysuckle, immortalised in the shots of the XIV edition of the Sirmione Award for Photography.
A World in a Bag it is an exhibition like a bag that collects the images of the five photographic competitions that make up the Prize.
In the rooms of Palazzo Callas Exhibitions the walls become the stage for a visual adventure: large paper bags as frames for the images created by photographers. Not just physical containers, but symbols of travel and discovery, custodians of emotions capable of bringing back memories of happy and significant moments.
A World in a Bag is not only a celebration of the beauty of the Lake: it is also a call for sustainability and environmental awareness. Paper bags and cardboard panels, a common material often overlooked, become the protagonists of a visual dialogue that invites us to reflect on our relationship with the environment and the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling.
Now in its fifteenth edition, the Sirmione Photography Award, dedicated to Lake Garda, is aimed at enthusiasts and professionals and is organized by the Municipality of Sirmione. It was born from the awareness that images are a universal language, the only one possible in a place of cosmopolitan and international connections like Sirmione.
A World in a Bag will be completed with the winning shots of the Sirmione 10% Photo Marathon: the 60-minute photographic “sprint” scheduled for Sunday 7 July 2024 from 7:30 to 8:30.
Meeting in Piazza Carducci at 7:00 to take a photo on the theme that will be revealed only at the official start of the race.
